Program Overview
The College Vocational program is a supportive program that will help you bridge the gap if you have graduated from high school with workplace credits, an Ontario Secondary School Diploma, or an Ontario Secondary School Certificate and are encountering barriers to finding appropriate and meaningful work.
The program offers you career exploration and planning, intrapersonal and interpersonal skills development, workplace communications and math, a range of inventories and self-assessments, as well as preparation for and participation in a work experience placement.
Upon successful completion, you will graduate with an Ontario College Certificate.
Full Description
College Vocational is a job-readiness program designed to meet the unique educational and vocational needs of people who are neurodiverse, or live with a mild intellectual disability. The program is two semesters in length and runs September to April. Intake begins in February of each year for the following September.
- College Vocational is a supportive program that helps you bridge the gap if you have graduated from high school with predominantly workplace or possibly college credits.
- The program may be suitable for you if you have an Ontario Secondary School Certificate or Diploma and are encountering barriers to finding appropriate and meaningful work.
- You will participate in courses focused on career planning, communication and math skills training, digital skills training, and intrapersonal and interpersonal skills enhancement.
- In collaboration with our community partner, PTP Adult Learning & Employment Programs, you will participate in a range of employment related workshops and a work experience placement.

Program Learning Outcomes
The graduate will have reliably demonstrated the ability to:
- Apply key information processing skills to employment and academic contexts.
- Apply workplace conventions and practices (policies and procedures, rules, regulations, health and safety laws/guidelines, ethical principles, etc.).
- Produce a career pathway plan with associated artifacts.
- Use essential literacies, such as communication, numeracy, digital, media, to carry out tasks and responsibilities.
- Manage personal and professional growth in employment and academic contexts.

*Amounts listed are the total of tuition, materials, student service and ancillary fees for the first two semesters of programs starting in Fall 2021. Fees are subject to change for programs starting in Fall 2022 and at later dates.
Financial Assistance
This program is approved for OSAP funding, provided the applicant meets OSAP eligibility criteria.

Admission Requirements
Eligible candidates are required to have one of the following:
- O.S.S.D or
- Ontario Secondary School Certificate or
- Mature Student Status (19 years of age or older)

- Qualified applicants are required to attend a mandatory online intake assessment and interview.
