Recognizing Student Work
Threads is an annual year-end event showcasing School of Fashion & Jewellery students’ talent. The event celebrates student accomplishments and provides students with an opportunity to connect with the industry. Threads is four events in one day: ‘Studio’ – student portfolio presentations, ‘FashionWorks’ – a networking event with the industry, the Student Awards, and, of course, the Fashion Show.
STUDIO
During ‘Studio’ students get a chance to present their work and achievements to a greater audience both from the industry and the general public. Students talk about their creative process and demonstrate their final work. As a visitor, you see what our students work on and meet the innovative and original talent that we have at the college. You can learn more about current fashion trends and the changing nature of the fashion industry.
FashionWorks
This exclusive event allows students to connect with George Brown School of Fashion & Jewellery successful alumni and industry professionals, learn from their experience and get inspired to start their own career. We also have many industry partners coming to meet our students that are looking to hire new graduates. Among the past industry partners that joined us during FashionWorks are Adidas, Joe Fresh, H&M Hennes & Mauritz Inc., and Roots Canada.
Student Awards
Every year, School of Fashion & Jewellery recognizes exceptional achievers for their hard-work, imagination and innovation. Students are given awards for academic success, creativity, and skills and expertise.
