Career Peer Coach (CPC) Support and Engagement Data
Career Peer Coaches (CPCs) assist students with basic job search preparation support. CPCs can support with resume and cover letter, provide Linked In Profile reviews, and share job search resources. This past year, our Career Peer Coaches moved from virtual appointments to in-person appointments and held 398 Peer-led coaching sessions on resumes, cover letters, and/or Linkedln.
MyCareer
GBC students now have the ability to submit their resumes and cover letters online for feedback on our brand-new MyCareer platform. Once documents are uploaded, our team of CPCs review and provide feedback within 2 business days.

Career Advising
Personalized career advising is critical to an individual's holistic career development and planning. Students and grads are able to meet with our expert team of career development practitioners, Career Advisors, to connect their higher education and career experiences to their desired job market and overall career goals. This past year, our advisors have 1,667 Personalized Individual (1 :1) Career Advising Sessions. This data is based on 347 Survey respondents (20.81% student response rate).

Career Advising Workshops
Career Advisors collaborate with our many faculty partners, across our academic schools, to support with the job readiness of our students in the classroom environment by delivering high-quality career-related workshops and content.
This past year we optimized our approach to be more efficient and intentional. This shift underscores our commitment to identifying that sometimes “less is more" in delivering valuable and targeted career education material. Even though we reduced the number of workshops by 20%, we saw an increase of 22% in student attendance and participation.
Career Services conducted 265 workshops from September 2022 - August 2023 to 12,661 student attendees.

GBCAREERS - Job Postings and Employer Portal
This exclusive online job-posting system connects GBC Students and Alumni, Staff and Employers. Students can customize their job search to their academic school and can access job postings, events, workshops and more. Due to the uncertain job market this past year, we expected and observed that the number of job postings went down as a result of the economic uncertainty.

Online, our services are also promoted to the website. Connect with students, alumni and employer partners as part of the George Brown Connect Café powered by Ten Thousand Coffees. Students can meet up for career conversations, in-person or online, and gain a better understanding of what careers are available with their experience and education.

Interview Prep is a great tool to assist faculty in facilitating in-class mock interview practice. Faculty can create and curate specific class lists and interview questions and afterward, students can use the platform and record their responses. After recording, students can send recordings to faculty to review and provide feedback.

SparkPath-Challenge Cards was founded to help students create extraordinary careers by exploring the real-world challenges that inspire them. By changing mindsets through innovative programs, coaching, and career tools, SparkPath helps the next generation discover their values, interests, and talents and visualize how they can make a real and unique contribution to the world.
