Marsha Chesley, Casting Director
Marsha Chesley has worked on hundreds of award-winning film and television productions over 30 years. She has worked on series and films for all of Canada’s major broadcasters. Marsha also enjoys an active teaching career, working with young actors, and offering workshops on the role of casting directors and the casting process.
Patricia Hamilton, Actor
Celebrated Canadian actress Patricia Hamilton has over 45 years of experience on the stage and screen. Ms. Hamilton served as director of The Advanced Actors Workshop at the Banff Centre for the Arts and has been the recipient of a Brenda Donohue Award, Dora Mavor Moore Award, Genie Award, Gemini Award and Silver Ticket Award.
Patrick Kwok-Choon, Actor
After graduating from George Brown Theatre in 2009, Patrick appeared in Canadian Stage's The Tempest and Tom Stoppard's Rock'n Roll. Since then he's performed in theatres across the country such as Theatre Passe Muraille, Factory Theatre, Tarragon Theatre, The Citadel Theatre. In 2012, he played Private David Taylor at The Princess of Wales Theatre in War Horse. He's also guest starred in several hit television shows such as: Covert Affairs, Rookie Blue, Nikita, Lucky 7, Befriend and Betray and The Best Laid Plans.
Diana Leblanc, Actor/Director
Diana Leblanc is one of Canada’s foremost actors/directors and a founding member of Soulpepper Theatre Company . She has worked extensively across the country including at Soulpepper Theatre, Stratford Festival , Theatre Calgary , Neptune Theatre, the National Arts Centre and Mirvish Productions . She was artistic director of Théâtre Français de Toronto from 1991 to 1996. She has also directed opera for the Canadian Opera Company, Opera Calgary, Pacific Opera Victoria, Opera Ontario and Opera Centre Amsterdam. Ms. Leblanc is a director of the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award Foundation.
Allen MacInnis, Artistic Director, Chair – Advisory Committee
Allen MacInnis is currently the artistic director of the celebrated Young People’s Theatre in Toronto. As artistic director of Winnipeg's Prairie Theatre Exchange, he brought the Company worldwide recognition by touring the award-winning play fareWel, by local First Nations playwright Ian Ross, to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Allen has directed at George Brown Theatre School.
Christopher Newton, Artistic Director
A true visionary of Canadian theatre, Christopher Newton founded Theatre Calgary in 1968 and later became artistic director of the Vancouver Playhouse. He served as artistic director of the Shaw Festival from 1980-2002, and was named a member of the Order of Canada in 1995. He currently holds the title, Artistic Director Emeritus, of the Shaw Festival. Christopher continues to direct at Canada’s regional theatres and the Stratford and Shaw Festivals.
Richard Rose, Artistic Director
Richard Rose, Artistic Director of the notable Tarragon Theatre, is one of Canada's most highly-respected directors. Mr. Rose was the founding Artistic Director of the distinguished Necessary Angel Theatre Company, a position he held from 1978 to 2002, where he developed and produced over 40 plays including the worldwide hit Tamara. Richard facilitates the partnership between George Brown Theatre School and the Tarragon, whereby George Brown students workshop new plays in their second and third year.
