How does the Interactive Design Exchange (IDX) support research?
The Interactive Design Exchange brings together industry with students and faculty in state-of-the-art facilities to conduct applied research and bring new ideas to market.
Digital Experience Design
Over the next 20 years, traditional sectors of the economy will be challenged by digital disruption. Trends such as mass-customization, automation, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR), the Internet of Things (IoT) and data visualization and simulation, are transforming traditional business models. Across industries, there is a shift from engineering-driven to design-driven products, from product-centric to customer-centric service models, and from marketing-focused to user experience-focused business models. This transformation emphasizes the importance of design in responding to digital disruption and presents an opportunity to drive growth and innovation, ensuring Canadian companies remain at the forefront of the global economy.
