Capitalize on large amounts of data available to HR departments and turn it into actionable analysis and insight with the one-year People Analytics (B430) graduate certificate program. Designed for HR graduates and professionals, this program helps you develop the skills to effectively tell the story of employee data. Learn to create and communicate compelling narratives and business cases with data visualizations and dashboards. Explore trends impacting the greater workplace landscape and analytical techniques to inform your recruitment and retention strategies.
While analysis is key, so is ethical management and governance. Learn best practices to uphold privacy, security and confidentiality in data collection and management. Students also gain valuable real-world experience with a one-semester co-op work term.
The People Analytics program equips graduates to:
- Develop a passion for technology, data, and translating data into business insights
- Lead continuous improvement strategies and provide data governance through quality standards and controls
- Manage data-driven support for operational practices and better user experience
- Create key insights through building, managing and optimizing data dashboards and reports

Program Learning Outcomes
- Collect and analyze a variety of data sets to improve organizational effectiveness, business operations and employee outcomes.
- Use HR information systems, Excel, and statistical packages for collecting and processing HR-related data and reporting.
- Design visualizations and communicate results of data analysis to decision makers and major stakeholders.
- Select and evaluate people analytic tools for ensuring the completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, and integrity of data.
- Interpret HR, business effectiveness metrics, and culture audit data in order to advise on talent management, workforce planning, compensation, performance management, and other people management subsystems.
- Evaluate existing HR policies and procedures to develop and implement change management initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness and employee well-being.
- Integrate environmental scan data, labour market trends, and internal structural and functional variables to forecast labour demand and supply and support equity and inclusion.
- Ensure compliance with the legal regulations, as well as with the professional, ethical, and organizational standards that ensure privacy, security and confidentiality in the access, retention, storage, and disposal of personal and organizational information.
- Work professionally and collaboratively to facilitate positive organizational change and to effectively maintain relationships with internal and external clients.
- Identify and apply people analytics principles for business transformation and strategic management of human capital.

- college diploma, advanced diploma or bachelor’s degree in a related field or demonstrated, relevant work experience (resumé and references required), or equivalent international credential.
English Language Proficiency
Applicants with international transcripts who do not provide English proficiency test results must test at the college level in the George Brown College English assessment to be considered for admission. In addition, applicants who are considered for admission to the program based solely on their work experience will be required to provide proof of English proficiency at the college level, and may be required to write the George Brown College English admission assessment.
