Thank you for your interest in the Employment Skills for Industrial Millwright Program.

The Industrial Millwright Pre-Apprenticeship program enables students to explore and develop skills related to the Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) trade. This free 32-week program will train students in theory and practice of machine fabrication and repair, maintenance needs of the manufacturing and production industry, mathematics, measurements and blueprint interpretation.

This program begin in June, 2024 and is offered to Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents who are 18 years or older.

Once your application has been received you will be invited to attend an information session to find out more about the program. If you wish to move forward with your application you will need to attend an assessment in Math and English. Suitable applicants will be contacted for a personal interview with the program admission committee. Successful candidates for program admission will receive official notification from George Brown College after all intake interviews are completed.

Our Employment Skills for Industrial Millwright Program is offered at no cost to students, including tuition, supplies, uniforms and equipment.

Requirements for the Trade:
Can you commit to 32 weeks of training (8 weeks of AU; 16 weeks of Level 1; 8 weeks of placement)
Are you comfortable with shift work or irregular hours during the field placement training?
Do you have any physical limitations that may affect your participation in the program? (Please note, you may be expected to lift up to 50-80 lbs and be physically active [on your feet] for 6-8 hours per day)
Are you physically fit with good hand dexterity?
Can you work in cramped positions, or at heights?
Can you stand on your feet for long periods of time?
You will be required to travel to a worksite for placement and to school. Are you able to?
Are you comfortable/able to travel within the GTA for your work placement?
