PLAR Submission Deadline for the Winter 2025 Term.
Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) Website: georgebrown.ca/plar/
First Day to Opt Out of Student Levy, if applicable, for the Winter 2025 Term.
Visit STU-VIEW and select Financial Services > View Fees.

Registration Dates for the Winter 2025 Term Are Posted on STU-VIEW by 9:00 a.m.
Check STU-VIEW for your program's registration start date/time. Online registration for Winter 2025 is staggered and begins on Monday, November 11, 2024.

Fees Deposit Is Due for the Winter 2025 Term (New students )
New students—and students who are beginning a new program—must pay the fees deposit by this date to hold their seat for January 2025.

Online Registration Begins for the Winter 2025 Term
Check STU-VIEW for staggered registration times to see when you can start to register. Registration start dates/times will be posted by October 28, 2024.

Be sure to register for all required courses each semester. You may register yourself online via STU-VIEW or by contacting the Registration Department.
First Day to Drop Courses Online for the Winter 2025 Term (if your registration time is open)
For most programs, students are permitted to drop courses online via STU-VIEW up until the Withdrawal Without Academic Penalty deadline.

Please note: It is your responsibility to ensure that you are registered for all required courses.

Always seek Academic Advising prior to dropping courses.

College Closed for Holiday Break

The College will close on Friday, December 20 at 5:00 p.m. and will re-open on Thursday, January 2, 2025. 

Winter semester classes start on January 6, 2025.

Transfer Credits (Exemptions) for the Winter 2025 Term

Students will be able to apply and submit transfer credit applications at any point during the semester, for any course affiliated with their program. Our Transfer Credit process adheres to an open application model, it is important for students to be mindful of the applicable dates associated with their upcoming semesters when pursuing transfer credits.

For Each Intake:
Day 1 — Semester Beings
Day 5 — Last Day to Add a Course to the Current Term
Day 10 — Last Day to Drop a Course (with partial refund)

Last Day to Write Placement Tests for English & Math for the Winter 2025 Term (First Year Students ONLY)
Placement test scores help us determine whether you are ready to take the college-level credit courses in English and/or math in the first semester, or if you need to take a foundation-level course first to further develop your skills.

Important: If you do not complete placement testing by this date, you will be automatically placed in the foundation-level course(s). You can book your placement test(s) online via STU-VIEW. For more information, visit the Assessment Centre website.
Last Day to Add a Course to Your Schedule for the Winter 2025 Term – FULL SEMESTER (15-week courses) & SESSION 1 (7-week courses)
Log into your STU-VIEW account to add courses to your schedule.
Last Day to Transfer to a Different Program or Section for the Winter 2025 Term

You may transfer to a different section within your program online via STU-VIEW, if permitted.

To transfer to a different program, please contact your Academic Divisional Office for assistance.

Academic Progress Reports (Degree Works) for Winter 2025 Are Now Available for Review.
Login to your STU-VIEW account and select Credential Audit from the Main Menu to view your Academic Progress Report (Degree Works).

Balance of Fees Due for the Winter 2025 Term for all students.
This due date applies to all post secondary students, including OSAP and Better Jobs Ontario applicants.

Important: 
A non-refundable late charge will be applied if fees are not received by this date.
Last Day to Withdraw from an Entire Program with a Partial Refund for the Winter 2025 Term.
This deadline date is strictly enforced.

If you are a domestic student, please withdraw from your program online via STU-VIEW – you will be required to provide a reason for withdrawal. Otherwise, please contact the Registration Department to request a withdrawal from your program; your written request must be submitted by the deadline.

Always seek Academic Advising prior to withdrawing from a program.
Last Day to Drop a Course from Your Schedule for the Winter 2025 Term – FULL SEMESTER (15-week courses) & SESSION 1 (7-week courses).
For most programs, students can drop courses online via STU-VIEW. Otherwise, please contact the Registration Department to drop a course from your schedule.

Important: Students who drop more than two courses may fall into part-time status, which can impact tuition fees as well as OSAP eligibility. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are registered for all required courses.

Always seek Academic Advising prior to dropping courses.

Check STU-VIEW for your program's registration start date/time. Online registration for Spring/Summer 2025 is staggered and begins on Monday, March 17, 2025.
Classes Begin for SESSION 2 (7-week courses) for the Winter 2025 Term.

Last Day to Add a Course to Your Schedule for SESSION 2 (7-week courses) in the Winter 2025 Term.

To add a course to your schedule for SESSION 2, please contact the Registration Department once you have received approval from your academic department.

Last day to submit OSAP supporting documents for study period ending April 17th, 2025 (the deadline is 40 days before end of study period.

Students wishing to appeal a grade have 10 business days from this date to initiate an appeal. Please refer to the Academic Appeals Policy for details.
