The George Brown College Foundation is pleased to announce two new appointments to its Board of Directors. On 25 February 2021, Ray Williams and Julian De Gasperis were appointed members of the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
Ray Williams is the Managing Director and Vice Chair, Financial Markets at National Bank Financial. He brings a wealth of financial experience to the Foundation’s Board stemming from his work in the financial sector in London, New York and Toronto. In this role, he is responsible for facilitating engagements with strategic accounts working closely within financial markets to promote the banks One Mission synergistic approach.
He also volunteers in various capacities as a mentor and has served on the respective boards of the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research (CANFAR), the United Way of Greater Toronto (PIMC), the Canadian Association of Urban Financial Professionals and the 100Strong Foundation. Ray is also one of the co-founders of the Black Opportunity Fund.
Julian De Gasparis holds the title of General Manager and Executive Sales at DG Group. Julian brings over a decade and a half’s experience and extensive networks in the construction industry to the Foundation’s Board of Directors, that will no doubt prove an asset to the work of the Foundation. He has experience in multiple facets of the construction industry including land development and real estate development.
Chair of the George Brown College Foundation Board of Directors, Gary Teelucksingh, welcomed the new directors saying, “These newest appointees to the Foundation Board are a visible expression of the Board’s redoubled focus on diversity, modernity and environmental sustainability within its ranks, as well as in its stakeholder interactions. The Foundation is pleased to have Ray and Julian be a part of the positive evolution of its Board of Directors.”
Foundation board member, Damon Murchison, added, “Ray Williams and Julian De Gasperis are noteworthy additions to the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Building on the Foundation’s longstanding thrust to draw from the best Toronto’s business community has to offer, these new appointments are certain to redound to the benefit of the George Brown College community.”
