Biography
Dr. Jeff Brown is an experienced and dedicated educator/researcher. His position at George Brown is a dual role, with teaching duties rotating between the department of Liberal Arts & Sciences (in which he teaches philosophy electives) and the School of ESL (in which he teaches English for academic purposes). Over the past 20 years, he has taught at a variety of post-secondary institutions and private schools, both in Canada and abroad. He holds an MA and a PhD in philosophy and an MA in applied linguistics. A regular presenter at professional conferences, his research interests include EAP curriculum development, critical pedagogy, and the ethics of English language teaching. His work has appeared in a number of scholarly publications, including TESL Canada Journal, Language Problems & Language Planning, Symposium, and English Today.
