Annie Stephen

Annie Stephen has over 35 years of experience working in fashion design and manufacturing industries.These experiences have equipped her with the in-depth knowledge needed to help guide her students through the product development cycle by examining how the fashion industry creates garments from start to finish. Creativity, critical thinking and compassion are the 3 values she instill in her classroom, and encourages students through hands on in-class assignments and practical learning. A passionate professor, Annie shares her expertise and technical knowledge in pattern making, grading, fitting, sample making, production and manufacturing through her teachings.

Previous to teaching at George Brown, she was the Senior Director of Technical Design at Sears Canada, developing garments for private brands like Jessica, Attitude and Nevada. Previous to that she was the Technical Design Manager at The Hudson Bay Company developing garments for The Canadian Olympic Collection, Hudson North, Mantles and Home Outfitters, as well as Zeller’s brands like Cherokee, Carroll Reed and Black Brown 1826 for Lord & Taylor.
