Biography
Angela Elter graduated from Sheridan College’s Fashion Technique & Design program and holds a MA in Learning and Technology from Royal Roads University. She has been teaching since 1998 and part of the GBC faculty since 2008.
In addition to teaching, Angela also works in film and television (IMBd), where as a “Lead Cutter” she collaborates with the the Costume Designer to develop and create costumes. As lead cutter, Angela is responsible for a sewing room, which depending on the project, oversees up to 6 people. Most recently Angela finished a Netflix series, called “Spinning out”, as well as “Mrs. America” for FX/HULU and will be starting the third season of Umbrella Academy soon.
When not working in either field, Angela enjoys working on her own projects: “eltelier” Wordpress and eltelier Instagram. Although her experience in patterndrafting and construction spans over 40 years (started sewing when she was 10 years old), she believes honing her skills, when not working, continues to bring new knowledge to the classroom.
