PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

FULL PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

CNC and Precision Machining Skills Training program is a skills-based employment program that prepares participants for entry level work within the Manufacturing sector.  Students will learn how to:

  • Safely operate shop equipment
  • Read and interpret technical drawings
  • Design and manufacture tools, jigs, fixtures, precision fabrication assemblies and prototypes
  • Use of computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing software, precision machining equipment and CNC machine tool technology

This program integrates precision machining methods with Computer Controlled Machine Technology (CNC) in state-of-art Precision Machining, CAD/CAM, CNC, and Welding labs.

Program curriculum is based on input from industry employers and faculty in George Brown College’s Centre for Construction and Engineering Technologies.  Courses will provide graduates with Ontario Public College Credits, which may be applied towards further education (i.e. Ontario Public College Diploma) and graduates will receive a George Brown College Certificate.
