Navigating your first 30 days
Your first college semester can be a whirlwind of activity with new classes, professors, software, assignments, and more. We have laid out resources to help you set yourself up for success from the jump! You've got this!
Beyond Orientation
We're committed to ensuring you persist in your studies while also gaining the hard and soft skills you need to guide you through your semesters and enter the workforce. Each semester, we run workshops to teach you how to maximize your efforts through time management, goal setting, personal branding, and more!
Online Orientation
The best way to get started at GBC is through Online Orientation.
Online Orientation covers everything you need to know as a new student, from your immediate to-do list to a look at all the services we have to support you. You can go through the full virtual course in one go, or at your own pace leading up to the semester, whatever is more comfortable. This is a vital step in getting ready for life at GBC!
Academic orientations
Academic orientations allow you to connect with faculty, staff, and peers! This is where you will find out what to expect in classes and get your questions answered on the specifics of your program.
We highly recommend you sign up for yours for the best start to your courses!
Orientation events, Campus Days & Welcome Week
We have plenty of fun and informative events to welcome you to GBC!
In the month before your first semester, you should attend virtual information sessions and workshops about navigating college life.
During the week before classes, you are encouraged to visit your campus at Campus Days to go on tours, meet new friends, explore services, enter giveaways and more.
Then in the first few weeks of the semester, you're invited to our Welcome Week, Services Fairs, and more!
