Are financial supports available?

Yes, all students participating in a Global Learning placement would be eligible for a travel grant.

What are the eligibility requirements?

Eligibility requirements will vary depending on the study tour. If you are interested in participating in a Global WIL, speak to your WIL Coordinator. Students interested in applying for an exchange are required to have a 3.0 GPA.

Can I attend an info session to learn more?

Yes, Global Learning Info Sessions are organized throughout the year. To learn more, email globalmobility@georgebrown.ca.

Will the courses I take while on exchange be transferred back to GBC?

Yes, program coordinators will pre-approve exchange courses before the exchange placement starts. 

I’m an international student, can I apply for the study/work abroad opportunity? 

Yes, all full-time students can apply, however, the onus of securing the corresponding work/study permit is on the student. Students are asked to do their research and prepare well in advance. 

How do you apply as an incoming exchange student to GBC?

If you are interested in coming to GBC on exchange, please check with the international office at your home institution for more information. Once a student has been nominated by their home institution, GBC will send an acceptance letter and further information on how to formally apply as an incoming exchange student. For more information about housing, please visit Student Housing. The Global Learning team will organize a welcome orientation specifically for new incoming exchange students.
