Pathways to the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (Hospitality) Degree Program (H311)
If you already have earned a post-secondary diploma in a hospitality-related discipline, you may be eligible for one of our Advanced Standing pathways to our Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (Hospitality) degree program.
Option 1: Do you have a two-year Hospitality diploma from George Brown College?
If you have completed or will be completing a diploma in one of the following diploma programs:
- Food and Beverage Management - Restaurant Management (H132)
- Hospitality - Hotel Operations Management (H133)
- Tourism and Hospitality Management (H130)
- Event Planning Program (H141)
Then you may be eligible for our internal Fast-Track Option, in which students do a bridging semester from May-August. The bridge semester runs from May-August every year and includes the following courses:
(H312) Bridge Semester:
- BBUS 1007 Macroeconomics
- BBUS 1006 Microeconomics
- HOST 2135 Bridging 1
- HOST 2137 Bridging 2
- Liberal Studies Elective
Qualified applicants who have achieved an overall GPA of 2.7 in their diploma program may be considered for this unique program. Qualified applicants will take bridging courses from May to August, and would then be granted advanced standing into the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (Hospitality) program for September. The credits that remain to be completed in order to achieve the H312 degree will be assessed, on an individual basis, in consultation with a program coordinator.

Option 2: Do you have a two-year Hospitality diploma from another post-secondary institution?
Graduates with qualifying Hospitality diplomas from other colleges both in Ontario and beyond may be eligible to enrol in the one semester diploma to degree bridging program (H312) which allows advanced standing into the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (Hospitality) degree program.
Graduates must have a minimum 2.7 overall GPA. Applications must be made the Ontario Colleges Application Service (OCAS) and the program code for May is H312. The diploma to degree bridging program for external students consists of the same courses listed above for the Bridge Semester Pathway for spring entry.
Students who successfully complete all of the courses in the one-semester bridging program (H312), will be granted advanced standing to the Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (Hospitality) degree program.

This meeting will help ensure you meet all eligibility requirements before you submit your application and inform you of all the ways that George Brown helps to make your journey a success.
Please note that the final advanced standing status will be determined by the academic division.

George Brown College ESL Level 9; TOEFL 84 overall and 21 in each skill band (Online); IELTS 6.5 overall and 6.0 in each skill band; MELAB 85; CAEL overall 70 (writing 60).

Note: There is no admissions assessment (testing) for this program. If the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number of seats available for this program, final student selection will be based on overall academic standing and/or grades in the required courses.
