Biography
Winnie Leung holds a Master of Teaching degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree from Ryerson University. She has over twelve years of management experience, working in the fashion industry, education and non-profit organizations. Winnie’s area of expertise includes apparel production management, both domestic and offshore, focusing on quality assurance. Her academic experience includes teaching at Seneca College School of Fashion in the Business Management Diploma Program, and holding the position of Academic Department Director for fashion design and fashion marketing programs at The Art Institute. Teaching in higher education since 2006, Winnie brings inquiry, insight and experience into the classroom. She is an educator and mentor for students, focusing on delivering the highest quality of sustainable learning strategies, with a commitment to students' academic and personal growth, and determination to create positive change for students that will last a lifetime. Winnie joined the faculty of George Brown College in 2008 and continues to teach at the School of Fashion & Jewellery. As a champion of social justice and sustainability, Winnie serves on the Board of Directors for Canada's Fashion Takes Action.
