Biography

Sherry Ostapovitch is a professor on the Sound Design program at George Brown College and is also undertaking a PhD in Social Justice Education at OISE / University of Toronto. Previously she has taught sound and music courses such as Field Recording and Soundscape Composition at Goldsmiths, University of London, UK. Sherry has had a vibrant career as a sound engineer recording musicians and designing station imaging for radio though now primarily focuses on sonic education and recording environmental sounds as a sound artist. They recently had work exhibited at the Institute for Contemporary Arts (ICA) in London, UK and has previously composed in ambisonic surround sound and produced a site-specific work for Kaffe Matthews’s sonic bicycles involving speakers, a raspberry Pi, and GPS system.
