Rosalia Kovarsky, MFA

Rosalia has vast Canadian and overseas experience in the field of fashion, ranging from manual and computerized pattern making and grading, to spec development, garment fitting and garment construction, coupled with over 13 years of experience in garment production. She has been teaching students for over 30 years. Rosalia has been a professor at George Brown College since 2008, and throughout this time has taught a variety of courses in the School of Fashion program, also contributing to the course curriculum development. She has designed a Knitwear Product Development course, redeveloped an Apparel Manufacturing course and Men’s Pattern Drafting course for the School of Fashion students.

Rosalia enjoys applied research. She has been instrumental in Scouts Canada uniform redesigning project, and a mentor in George Brown Culinary School Female Chef Jacket design, pattern, grading, and spec development, a successful project that brought comfort to and earned complete approval of the entire Culinary School female population. The jacket has been sold in GBC at St. James campus store since September 2015. As a part of GBC research in innovation and technology application team, Rosalia has been leading a textile lab equipment section. Rosalia was leading a Knitting Club in its early days, a recreational activity for Fashion students and faculty.
