Transfer Credits (Course Exemptions)

New and current students can apply online to transfer credits from another post-secondary institution to George Brown College. If you are approved for transfer credit, you will then be exempted from completing the equivalent course(s) at George Brown.

Be sure to register for—or remain registered in—the course(s) you are applying to be exempted from. This way, you will be properly registered in your program's required courses should your application for transfer credit be denied. Be sure to attend all classes until your exemption has been approved. Once your Transfer Credit course is approved, make sure you check your STU-VIEW account ensure that the course has changed from "Registered" to "Exempted". If you are exempted for more courses within the semester, you registration might drop down to part-time load.

To access the online Application for Transfer Credit, you must first accept your offer of admission. Then you must log in to your STU-VIEW account and navigate to the Transfer Credit-Application & History tab and select Submit or Modify an Application for Transfer Credit (Exemption)

In order to evaluate your application, we will require the following:

  1. Official transcripts
  2. Detailed course outlines
  3. A valid e-mail address

Note: The online application will open approximately two months prior to the start of each term. Please note that the last day to submit an application, including all supporting documentation, is the first day of the semester.

For detailed instructions, please see the How to Apply for Transfer Credits PDF.
