Canada’s largest professional association of graphic designers has given George Brown College’s School of Design top marks, naming it the number one design school in the country based on students’ work.

The Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD) released its top 10 list this spring. The rankings were based on student work submitted for the 2023 RGD Student Design Awards. George Brown students won seven awards and earned 13 honourable mentions.

This incredible recognition demonstrates the immense talent of our students and the quality of the design education they receive at George Brown.

The School of Design recently celebrated YES!, its year-end awards and public exhibition of the work of more than 400 graduating students, at its home at Daniels Waterfront – City of the Arts at 3 Lower Jarvis St.

The school offers certificate, degree, diploma and postgraduate programs that provide opportunities to stack up skills and specializations. Students gain real-world experience and develop a strong understanding of the various facets of the design field thanks to the school’s partnerships with industry-leading organizations.

“On behalf of the entire School of Design community, including our faculty, staff, industry partners, and students, we are thrilled to be named the top design school in Canada,” said Ana Rita Morais, Associate Dean of the School of Design. “I am so grateful to our faculty who embed innovative curriculum design and pedagogical approaches into our studio-style learning environments.”
