In today's fast-paced world, taking care of our mental health has never been more important. On Bell Canada's Let's Talk Day, we're reminded that every conversation about mental health helps break down barriers and builds bridges of understanding.
At George Brown College (GBC), we recognize that mental wellness is fundamental to academic success and personal growth. Our commitment extends beyond just talking about mental health – we're actively working to create a campus environment where seeking support is normalized and encouraged.
GBC Resources
Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, or other mental health challenges, know that you're not alone.
Our dedicated counselling and student well-being services continue to evolve and expand, ensuring that support is available when needed. With both in-person and virtual options, we are making mental health resources more accessible than ever. Check out the Counselling and Student Well-Being webpage for more information and resources.
Mental Health Conference
On February 27, George Brown College will host its 25th annual Mental Health Conference. The theme of this year's event is "Thriving Together in the Classroom: Creating the Conditions for Student Well-being." You can now register for the conference.
Supporting Bell Let's Talk
As part of this year’s Bell Let’s Talk campaign, you can donate $5 by text, with 100 percent of proceeds going to six youth mental health providers. Bell will match all $5 donations up to $1 million. Learn more at letstalk.bell.ca.
There will also be activities at Casa Loma, St. James and Waterfront campuses today, and the Huskies are hosting their annual Bell Let’s Talk games this week (January 23, 25 and 26). Visit athletics.georgebrown.ca for details.
At GBC, we believe that supporting mental health is a year-round commitment. Let's continue to build a community where everyone feels heard, supported, and valued.
