Fashion designer, entrepreneur and George Brown College graduate Lesley Hampton has been honoured by the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) for her professional success. The GBC community extends a big congratulations!
CCAB announced this week that Hampton, a Fashion Techniques and Design graduate, is the 2023 Young Aboriginal Entrepreneur Award recipient. The honour “recognizes the young business leaders of today who are driving the Indigenous economy forward.” The award will be presented at a gala on February 7.
“I’m so honoured to be the recipient of the Young Entrepreneur Award and thankful to the CCAB for this recognition, to follow the footsteps of so many incredible young leaders,” Hampton said. “I dedicate this award to my community and my team, who empower and inspire me daily.”
Hampton launched the Lesley Hampton brand in 2016. Her star continues to rise with her work featured in Vogue, Buzzfeed and on artists at awards shows and events, including the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, the 2022 Juno Awards, the 2021 Emmy Awards, the 2020 Golden Globe Awards, and others.
She’s also been an incredible ambassador for George Brown College, sharing her expertise with the entrepreneurship hub startGBC and participating in other activities.
