A longtime George Brown partner generously donated 50,000 face shields to the college, helping to ensure our students and employees are protected from COVID-19 when they are on campus.
For the past 20 years, printing and marketing solutions company Allegra Toronto has worked with the college on our printing and signage needs and has supported us with wayfinding and signage throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Allegra has also worked with many George Brown students over the years on their project printing needs.
“Relationships with local businesses are very important to us. We’ve worked with Allegra for many years and are grateful for its continued support of the college community through the pandemic,” George Brown College’s Vice-President, Strategy & Innovation, Rick Huijbregts said. “This donation helps us ensure the health and safety of students and employees as we continue our phased transition to on-campus learning.”
The value of the face shield donation is nearly $125,000.
“We want to support the safe return of faculty and students to the college and surrounding community and hope it will facilitate a resurgence for smaller businesses in the area,” Allegra’s VP of Sales and Marketing Warren D’Silva said. “We also appreciate the trust that the college and the Facilities Management Team has put in us and our work towards signage and wayfinding throughout the three campuses. We hope that this initiative will help strengthen our commitment to the college and the community for years to come.”
George Brown continues to deliver programs in both online and hybrid formats, with select groups of students and employees on campus for hands-on learning in our labs and other facilities.
