To know Caroline MacDonald was to love her. Those who did will miss her rich sense of humour, quick wit, unforgettable laugh, glowing smile, selfless generosity, creative touch and famous baked goods. It is with great sadness that the world lost Caroline on June 30th, 2022.
Whether she was passing drinks to patrons or caring for the elderly, Caroline spent the majority of her life in the service of others. Inspired by her mother and a passion for elder care, she enrolled in George Brown College’s Gerontology program and graduated with honours. Returning to school as a mature student changed the course of her life and positively impacted the lives of many others. She spent the final 15 years of her life leading the recreation department at Meighen Retirement Residence, caring for residents in the same nurturing manner she cared for her cherished mother.
To honour Caroline’s memory at George Brown College, a scholarship has been created in her name – The Caroline MacDonald Memorial Award. This scholarship will support students enrolled in the Recreation Management in Gerontology program at George Brown College. Our hope is that this scholarship will carry on her legacy of care and generosity, supporting students towards their own goals.
Donations to the Caroline MacDonald Memorial Award will elicit a tax receipt for the full amount. 100% of your donation will directly go to support the scholarship.
