Biography

Oleksandr Slavko has over 23 years of professional experience in teaching mathematics and statistics to college and university students including more than seven years at the Centre for Business at George Brown College. His strong skills in communication and problem solving help students to overcome challenges and achieve their ultimate academic goals. Oleksandr’s solid academic background lets him explore innovative and alternate approaches in teaching math courses so that students are able not only to properly absorb knowledge in the classroom but also apply and utilize it practically in their day-to-day lives.

Oleksandr’s extensive educational experience and constant professional development efforts have enabled him to evolve his teaching style and techniques to make them effective with diverse and multicultural groups. As a self-reflective practitioner Oleksandr is energetic and persistent in his professional development. His commitment to academic excellence, his strong rapport with learners, and his accommodation of students’ specific capabilities, strengths and weaknesses have been highly appreciated throughout his teaching career.
