Biography
Ian Gregory joined George Brown College in 2000 and teaches six different design courses. As a principal of Gregory Gregory Limited for more than 25 years, Ian has produced a number of award-winning projects and received a special mention in the first edition of the Canadian Encyclopedia. During the late 1980s he designed the permanent Grand Hall exhibition for the Canadian Museum of Civilization. For ten years Ian facilitated the Exhibition Project for Museum Studies in the Graduate Program at U of T and for two years was a design consultant for the Institute without Boundaries Massive Change project with Bruce Mau.
Ian studied in the U.K. receiving a bachelor of arts in graphic design and completing a postgraduate program in typography. He was awarded the prestigious Mardon International Fellowship to study packaging and 3D design in Bristol, London and Montreal. In Toronto he worked with Don Watt and later became the senior designer for Ontario Provincial Parks. In Ottawa he worked for Parks Canada creating Visitor Centres for National Parks and Historic Sites and also worked as the senior exhibition designer for two National Museums.
