Biography
Mr. Joven is an internationally trained educator and economist whose work is grounded in central banking, economics and finance. He has 20 years’ experience working in a central bank setting as an economist and financial analyst in the areas of direct/portfolio investments, foreign exchange transactions, build-operate-transfer and variant financing schemes in project finance. He shares his expertise by teaching business, economics and finance courses and has on various occasions been invited to speak at economic seminars/workshops in educational and professional institutions in his home country, the Philippines.
As a graduate of George Brown College’s teaching program in 2008, he utilizes newly developed best practices in teaching to complement his skills in optimizing the dynamics of diverse classroom learning environments. Whether facilitating courses online or in-class, he advocates a learner-centred approach and encourages collaboration.
