Biography

Dr. Willis has been a faculty member of the Angelo DelZotto School of Construction Management since 2014 and is currently the program coordinator for graduate certificate programs in Construction Management and Building Information Modeling. Prior to joining George Brown College, Dr. Willis was a faculty member in the Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering at Concordia University as well as a stipend instructor at the University of New Brunswick and the University of Guyana. In addition, Dr. Willis has extensive industry experience as a project engineer and project manager for a variety of industrial and heavy civil infrastructure projects in Trinidad and Guyana, including highway construction, rice mill and grain storage foundation design and construction, bridge construction and revetment construction. Dr. Willis has published textbook chapters in engineering economics and management, various refereed journal articles and conference proceedings in performance measurement, maturity modeling augmented reality, road safety and construction education as well as industry reports in the area of Building Information Modeling. Also, Dr. Willis was the 2012-2013 Stephen G. Revay Honorable Mention for best paper published in the Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering, winner of the Global Engineering Award for Excellence in Teaching from Engineers Without Borders for 2012-2013 and winner of the Glasgow Caledonian Prize for Best Presentation at the PROBE Conference in 2007.
