On September 18, 2024, Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced new requirements related to eligibility for a Post-graduation Work Permit. Applicants who apply for their study permit on or after November 1, 2024 must graduate from a program in specific fields of study that are linked to long-term labour shortages. Please review the list of George Brown programs that are still eligible for a PGWP.

International students, graduating from a post-secondary program may be eligible to apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) that is valid from 8 months to up to three (3) years, depending on the duration of the academic program successfully completed.

Please check with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for more information on PGWP program eligibility by visiting the IRCC webpage.
