English Language Proficiency Tests

Since all classes are offered in English, applicants to George Brown College must have an acceptable level of English language proficiency in order to be considered for admission.

Applicants may meet the English proficiency requirement in one of the following ways:

  1. Applicants must provide proof that their secondary and/ or post-secondary studies were completed at a recognized institution where English is the primary media of instruction and that English is the first official language of the country, along with an evaluation. The type of evaluation required for your program application(s) may vary, so it would be advised to contact Admissions and enquire. The studies must be relevant to the admission requirement for the specific program(s) applied to (e.g. an advanced diploma or degree is required for certain postgraduate program), or
  2.  Applicants who do not meet the criteria listed above (#1), may meet English proficiency requirements with results from a language proficiency test. For details on the acceptable tests and minimum scores please visit English Proficiency website.
