Toronto, ON - Concert Properties Ltd. and their supporting partners have made a donation of $100,000 to help George Brown College Centre of Construction and Engineering students dealing with challenges to their education brought on by COVID-19. Already a long-time supporter of George Brown College, Concert Properties has directed the pledge, which exceeded last year’s pledge amount, to its pre-existing Concert Properties and Partners Endowment, supplementing funding for scholarships at the Centre for Construction and Engineering Technologies (CCET) to support students who are registered full time in their first, second or third year of study. The Concert Properties and Partners Award has facilitated the distribution of over 90 scholarships to George Brown College trades students.
Brian McCauley, President & Chief Executive Officer of Concert Properties Ltd is passionate about Concert’s commitment to trades training. “Despite not being able to host our annual golf tournament to raise funds for the endowment, Concert and our supporters were determined to provide financial assistance to George Brown College students impacted by the pandemic. Together we are pleased to be able to provide these much-needed funds to prepare trades students for the careers they have dreamt of as they move towards rewarding careers in our industry, helping to ensure the long-term supply of skilled trades labour in the province.”
Anne Sado, President of George Brown College, said, “Concert Properties Ltd. continues to lead by action, showing through this pledge its unflagging commitment to George Brown students and the construction sector. We at George Brown College are indeed fortunate have such a strong partnership with Concert Properties Ltd.”
Dr. Adel Esayed, Dean of the Centre for Construction and Engineering Technologies, said, “Through this gift, Concert Properties’ support for the students of the Centre for Construction and Engineering Technologies will go a long way to mitigating some of the tangible negative effects of the pandemic our students face. Concert Properties Ltd. is to be commended for its generosity and thought-leadership in this regard.”
