International Women’s Day (March 8) is a time to recognize achievements, speak up against gender bias, and support equity and inclusion.
We invite you to reflect on the impact women have made and continue to make in our community and beyond. George Brown College is home to many inspiring women leaders, employees, students and graduates who contribute to improving their communities, industries and our society. You can find great examples in our profiles below.
George Brown College values the unique perspectives women bring to our institution and is committed to creating a supportive environment and sense of belonging for all members of our community. We must take meaningful steps year-round to support gender equity and include the experiences and voices of all individuals, including Black, Indigenous and racialized women and people with disabilities as well as recognizing the lived experiences of cis, trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming people.
“Today and every day, we can each play a role in creating a more inclusive and equitable future for everyone,” said George Brown College President Dr. Gervan Fearon. “With our individual and collective actions, we can all be champions for gender equity and work to eliminate gender bias.”
