If you’ve visited St. James Campus this month, you may have noticed a new addition to the campus store: a pop-up Canvas Corner Store section — featuring totes and tees that promote 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion and consent.

“Pride is about community, and we’re excited to partner with Canvas Programs — an important community organization — to bring awareness to the work they do,” said Ryan Sargent, Director, Ancillary Business Services, George Brown College. “The Canvas Program collection introduces new styles to our stores while promoting inclusion and consent.”

George Brown is one of Canvas’ first “brick and mortar” partners, and our college will carry a range of Corner Store products with profits going back to Canvas programming.

How Canvas Programming is making a difference in our communities

Each year, Canvas Programming facilitates workshops for more than 10,000 people in schools, workplaces, camps, and community spaces across Ontario. Canvas provides high-quality, proactive education in our communities in an effort to combat homophobia, transphobia and sexual violence.

“We're thrilled to collaborate with GBC to amplify our message of queer joy and consent within their community,” said Jules Ferguson, Operations and Development Coordinator, Canvas Programs. “This partnership enables us to fund our 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion and consent education programs in schools and community spaces."

Visit the St. James Campus store in person to purchase products from the Canvas pop-up shop, and check out Canvas Programs online to learn more about this unique charitable organization.
