We are happy to announce that Paul Armstrong has joined George Brown as the Associate Vice-President of Strategy, Planning and Risk. Paul will report to Michael Herrera, Senior Vice-President, Institutional Planning & Chief Financial Officer.
Paul brings valuable experience from his previous role at Seneca College, where he worked as a Director for the Centre for Institutional Data and Enterprise Analytics (C-IDEA) for five years. Prior to which, Paul worked as an Institutional Research Analyst at Centennial College and as an Assistant Professor at Concordia University.
“We’re excited to have Paul join George Brown College and provide his expertise and leadership to our team,” said Michael. “With his extensive background in data and analytics, Paul is not only dedicated to enhancing the college’s reputation but also to improving the overall experience for students, employees and faculty.”
In his role at GBC, Paul will provide leadership and oversight to the college’s strategic, institutional, and annual plans, ensuring they are consistent with GBC’s enterprise risk management framework and align with the college’s mission, vision and values. He will be focusing on integration of risk management with strategic initiatives and will support Michael in leading the upcoming integrated planning efforts for 2024/25.
Paul will lead the Strategic and Institutional Planning, Enterprise Risk Management and Insurance, and Institutional Research teams.

Paul has a PhD and Masters in Sociology from the University of Toronto. His research interests include social inequality and the sociology of science, and he has a passion for teaching.
