Academic Standing & GPA

To be considered in good academic standing, a student needs to maintain a term GPA of 1.70 for diploma and certificate programs and a GPA of 2.30 for degree programs.

To receive honours in a Diploma/Certificate program a student needs a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or 3.70 for a Degree program.

Students can see complete details of GPA minimums and grade point values through George Brown College’s grading scheme, available in PDF format.

To calculate your semester GPA add the total number of grade point values per semester and divide by the total number of credits per semester.  For cumulative GPA add the total number of grade point values for all semester and divide by the total number of credits for all semesters.
