About the Play

Two one-act comedies, written by Mark Brownell
Directed by Sue Miner*

These two one-act comedies explore different aspects of living life as an artist and as an outsider. In the Amazing Cordobas, a “found” family of trapeze artists, who have kept themselves happily sheltered from general society, must face harsh facts as one of their number falls in love and wishes to run away from the circus to join the real world.

Based on a true story, War of the Clowns features a troupe of unexpectedly heroic performers who come to the aid of a small village at the mercy of a cruel dictator. According to one of the clowns, "There can be no revolution without us."
