TLX Day will offer a dynamic blend of sessions designed to inspire and equip educators as they prepare for the new academic year. In this interactive conversation, we will explore answers to the question, “what is the unique role of a teacher in the age of GenAI?” Participants will have the opportunity to deepen their personal understanding of their critical role in education, become reacquainted with the power of relational pedagogy, and embrace an optimist and realistic stance for the new semester ahead. Disability Accessibility and Our Responsibilities
In this session, educators will learn the fundamentals of accessibility for course planning and instruction based on their requirements and responsibilities set out under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC). Educators will learn about the diversity of disabilities, how to meet our duty to accommodate, reducing barriers, and creating more accessible, universally-designed learning experiences.
- Decolonizing College Pedagogy
This session will draw upon both evidenced-based practices on and the practical application of decolonizing college instruction. Participants in this session will be given the opportunity to discuss, reflect, and leave with a foundation towards the reconstruction of their own pedagogy.
