Crosslisting On Brightspace
Self-Crosslisting is available to faculty.
Important Notes
- Faculty who plan to cross-list their course should not work in the live shell until the cross-list has been completed.
Technical Help
For all technical help related to cross-listing within D2L including new cross lists, additions to existing cross lists or cross list removal, please send a help desk request to helpdesk@georgebrown.ca
Please include the following:
- Confirmation that this is for D2L/Brightspace
- The instructor's employee ID
- The CRN(s) to be merged/added/or removed.
- A short statement of the request, e.g. "Please merge XXXXX with YYYYY", or "Please add XXXXX to cross list YYYYY"

Getting Help
If you need help using a feature or tool in Brightspace, click on the “GETHELP” widget at the bottom right of every page on Brightspace. You will be prompted to use the widget. If additional help is needed, you will be offered the ability to CHAT, CALL or EMAIL a Brightspace Agent for help.

Instructors FAQ to help you navigate Brightspace
Brightspace Training
Brightspace training is being provided to all faculty in phases throughout the spring and summer. By September 1, when Blackboard is officially turned off, all faculty and their courses will have been transitioned to Brightspace. Faculty who have not yet been trained may contact their Chair to confirm when their training should take place.
Brightspace Access, Sandbox & DEV Shells
All full-time GBC faculty have access to Brightspace. Go to learn.georgebrown.ca and use your usual GBC log-in credentials for access. If you cannot access Brightspace, contact the Help Desk. See “Getting Help” for more information about support.
Drop-In Help Sessions
Faculty can book two different types of support sessions:
- Content Creation Assistance (TLX), which involves consultations about course layout, online pedagogy, educational technology, Learning Objects Development, and guidance on supporting learning using the Brightspace elements tools and environment.
- Technical Assistance (eLTI) which includes tasks such as importing or exporting course content, technical instructions, and troubleshooting.
