Loan & Renew Library Items
Most books from the regular library collection may be signed out for 2 weeks and can be renewed. Some specially marked, heavily used, or required course reading materials may have restricted loan periods (such as 3 hours) without renewals; be sure to check your receipt/library account details.
If you would like to renew an item you have checked out, you can do so using My Account (your online library account). You may also renew in person or by phone.
You can renew your library item(s) if:
- the item is from the general collection (i.e. not a reserve or special item)
- the item is not overdue
- you have no outstanding overdue fines and/or items
- no other borrower has made a request for this item (i.e. placed a hold)
- your library account is up-to-date
- you have not reached the maximum number of renewals for the item
The length of loan periods vary with the status of the borrower. Please consult the schedule below for loan periods and renewals for items from the regular collection.
