Women’s sports have changed dramatically in recent years. The three winners of the Nathalie Cook - Canadian Women & Sport Disruptor Award, presented by TSN/RDS, are being celebrated as Canadian leaders who are courageous gender equity champions in their sports careers and for taking bold action for the greater good of the sports community.

To date, the event has raised more than $400,000 for students and student bursaries. The funds help support outstanding students from George Brown College’s business sport and event marketing program who have demonstrated a variety of skills, including academic performance. The initiative is dedicated to advancing sports business leadership from the classroom to the boardroom.

Experiential learning plays a central role in the Sport and Event Marketing program at George Brown College. Before the pandemic, its students were able to get internships with companies in their chosen field and expand their education through mentorship and real-world experience. When COVID-19 hit, some of those opportunities were lost.
