The Evolution of our Built Environment
As George Brown College continues changing to meet the community's diverse needs, the Facilities and Sustainability department leads short- and long-term changes to our buildings, infrastructure, and learning and working spaces.
The Campus Planning team within the Facilities and Sustainability department drives activities, research and consultations to map out the future of college spaces and make those plans a reality. The team works to ensure George Brown's built environments and spaces enable students, employees, and faculty to meet their goals, promote collaboration and innovation, and strengthen our connection to surrounding communities and the city.

Key Projects
Campus Master Plan
We're developing a new Campus Master Plan to help guide how GBC grows and changes over the next three decades. It's all about taking a long-term view of our physical spaces up to 2050.
Future of Work Initiative
We're supporting the college's adoption of a hybrid work model for employees and the creation of modern, flexible spaces for connecting and collaborating.
Student Housing Working Group
Housing affordability presents a big challenge to members of the GBC community. We’ve established a Student Housing Working Group to explore the issue and develop solutions.
